A real help center before you can afford to hire for one
You need self-service but can't afford to hire for it yet. HappySupport builds a real help center with no dedicated role and no big budget.
These teams document with HappySupport
Early on, the founding team answers every question itself. That works until the same questions come back every single day.
It's too early for a dedicated docs role. HappySupport gives you self-service without hiring or pulling someone off their work.
Start small, work fast
The fastest paths from zero to real self-service.
Self-service without the overhead

Instead of answering tickets with the team, you point users to guides you created in minutes.
As you grow, your help center grows with you, without first building a docs department.
A support setup a small team can actually run
Start with the questions customers ask while using your software. HappySupport turns them into a searchable help center, puts the answers inside your product with the help widget, and catches everything else in a ticket inbox. On Professional and Scale, an AI chat answers from your own articles and hands off to a person when it can't help.
From the first workflow to a live help center
- Pick five recurring questions. Account access, inviting a teammate, your main workflow, billing and how to reach support are a good first set.
- Record a real workflow. Use a demo account without customer data. HappySupport writes the article and captures the screenshots with sensitive data hidden; you review the result.
- Publish and embed. Organize the articles, add the widget to your product with one line of code and ask someone new to the feature to follow a guide.
- Name one content owner. After a release, that person approves the article updates Git Handoff proposes and works through the health audit (both on Professional and Scale).
A first set of articles can go live in a day. Imports, access rules and translations add time if you need them.
Do we need a separate ticketing system?
No, not for most small SaaS teams. HappySupport includes a ticket inbox: requests from the widget contact form and escalated AI chats land there, and your team replies by email with internal notes, priority, status and an assignee. Help center, AI chat and inbox run from the same content, so a question the docs can't answer turns into a ticket with the context attached.
Already on Intercom, Zendesk, Help Scout or Freshdesk? Keep it. Import your existing articles with redirects and use HappySupport as the help center and widget next to the helpdesk you already run. If you need phone support, omnichannel routing or workforce management for a large contact center, a full contact-center suite is the better fit.

Book a demo and bring one of your own workflows: we record it, publish it to the widget and show what happens when the feature changes. Our own help center runs on HappySupport.
