AI help center software with flat monthly pricing instead of per-seat fees includes HappySupport, Crisp, HelpCanvas, help.center and Helpjuice, which charge per plan or per workspace. Chatbase and SiteGPT do the same for a chatbot without a help center. All seven include AI in the plan price, mostly as a monthly allowance, instead of billing per resolution like Intercom Fin ($0.99 per outcome), Zendesk AI agents ($1.50 to $2.00 per automated resolution) and Help Scout AI Answers ($0.75 per resolution).
This guide sorts the seven flat-price tools by what you actually get for the fixed fee: a help center, an AI chatbot, a ticket inbox, or only a chatbot. The short answer for startups: if you mainly need a cheap chatbot, HelpCanvas and help.center have the lowest entry prices; if you need a help center whose articles stay correct so the chatbot does not quote stale answers, HappySupport includes 250 or 1,000 AI answers a month in a flat plan from 399 EUR. All prices below were checked on each vendor's own pricing page in October 2026.

The three ways AI help center software is priced
AI help center software and AI customer support chatbots are priced in three ways: per seat, per resolution, or as a flat plan that includes a monthly AI allowance (sometimes expressed as credits). Most large help desks combine the first two, which is why the bill grows with both your team and your success.
Per seat
Per-seat pricing charges for every person who works in the tool. Intercom lists $29, $85 and $132 per seat per month billed annually, Zendesk Suite $55 or $115 per agent per month billed yearly, and Help Scout $25, $45 and $75 per user per month. A per-seat bill grows when you hire, even if ticket volume stays flat.
Per resolution
Per-resolution pricing charges each time the AI closes a conversation without a human. Intercom bills Fin from $0.99 per Fin outcome, and on Intercom an outcome also includes handoffs Fin completes as part of a workflow. Zendesk includes 5 automated resolutions per agent per month on Suite Team and 10 on Suite Professional, then charges $1.50 per committed or $2.00 per pay-as-you-go automated resolution. Help Scout sells AI Answers at $0.75 per resolution. Per-resolution pricing is cheap at low volume and gets more expensive the better the AI works.
Flat plan with included AI answers or credits
Flat pricing charges one monthly fee per plan or workspace and includes a fixed number of AI answers, conversations or credits. HappySupport, Crisp, HelpCanvas, help.center, Chatbase and SiteGPT work this way, and Helpjuice includes its AI suite in its upper plans. The bill only changes when you pick a bigger plan or buy an extra block, so a good month does not cost more than a bad one. The catch is the allowance: check what counts as one answer and what happens when it runs out.
Worked example: 1,000 AI-resolved conversations a month
For a three-person support team whose AI resolves 1,000 conversations a month, per-resolution tools land between roughly $825 and $2,135 a month, while flat-price tools cover the same volume for $29 to 899 EUR. The calculation uses only the list prices linked above, no discounts, and keeps each vendor's own currency.
- Intercom Essential: 3 seats at $29 = $87, plus 1,000 Fin outcomes at $0.99 = $990. Total $1,077 a month.
- Zendesk Suite Team: 3 agents at $55 = $165, with 15 automated resolutions included. The other 985 cost $1,477.50 at the committed rate or $1,970 pay-as-you-go. Total $1,642.50 to $2,135 a month.
- Help Scout Standard: 3 users at $25 = $75, plus 1,000 AI Answers resolutions at $0.75 = $750. Total $825 a month.
- HappySupport Professional: 399 EUR includes 250 AI answers and 5 team members. Three extra blocks of 250 AI answers at 100 EUR each bring it to 1,000 answers. Total 699 EUR a month. Scale at 899 EUR includes 1,000 AI answers and 10 team members without add-ons.
- Crisp Plus: $295 per workspace includes 20 seats and $75 of AI credits, which Crisp estimates at around 1,350 automated conversations. Total $295 a month.
- help.center Unlimited: $99 for the entire team includes 2,500 AI answers. Total $99 a month.
- HelpCanvas Pro: $29 per workspace billed annually includes 1,000 chatbot conversations and unlimited agents. Total $29 a month.
Two caveats keep this comparison honest. First, vendors count different units: Intercom, Zendesk and Help Scout count resolved conversations, while HappySupport and help.center count AI answers, so a conversation in which a customer asks two questions can use two answers. Second, the gap widens with volume: at 2,000 resolutions Intercom Essential comes to $2,067 for three seats, while HappySupport Scale plus four extra blocks of 250 answers comes to 1,299 EUR.
Flat-price AI help center software, compared
The seven tools below charge a flat fee per plan or workspace with AI usage included in the plan, usually up to a stated monthly limit. None of them bills AI answers per resolution. They differ mainly in whether a full help center and ticket inbox come with the chatbot.
| Tool | Entry price with AI | Pricing unit | AI included | Help center | Ticket inbox |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| HappySupport | 399 EUR/month (Professional) | Per plan, 5 team members | 250 AI answers/month | Yes | Yes |
| Crisp | $45/month (Mini) | Per workspace, 4 seats | $5 AI credits, around 90 automated conversations | From Essentials ($95) | Shared inbox |
| HelpCanvas | $29/month billed annually (Pro) | Per workspace, unlimited agents | 1,000 chatbot conversations/month | Yes | Yes |
| help.center | $99/month (Unlimited) | Entire team | 2,500 AI answers/month | Yes | Yes |
| Helpjuice | $449/month (AI-Knowledge Base) | Per plan, 100 users | AI suite included | Yes | Not listed |
| Chatbase | $120/month billed yearly (Standard) | Per plan, 3 team members | 4,000 message credits/month | No | No |
| SiteGPT | $39/month billed yearly (Starter) | Per plan, 1 team member | Up to 4,000 messages/month | No | No |
HappySupport
HappySupport is a help center with an AI chatbot, a ticket inbox and an in-app widget, priced as a flat monthly fee per plan with no per-seat and no per-resolution fees. After a 14-day free trial, plans cost 129 EUR (Starter), 399 EUR (Professional) or 899 EUR (Scale) per month. The plans differ in active articles (50, 300, 750), team members (1, 5, 10) and customer AI answers (none, 250, 1,000 per month). Extra capacity is bought in blocks: 100 EUR per month for 250 more AI answers, 89 EUR per month for 100 more active articles.
The HappySupport AI chatbot is included from Professional and answers only from your own articles, with sources. Starter includes the help center, article search and AI writing tools, but no customer AI answers. When the monthly allowance is used up, AI answers pause and article search keeps working; nothing is charged automatically.
What HappySupport does differently from the cheaper tools on this list is keep the articles behind the chatbot current. The HappyRecorder turns a click-through of your product into a step-by-step guide with screenshots, and Git Handoff reads commits and pull requests from GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket and drafts updates for the affected articles for your team to review. That matters for an AI chatbot, because an AI answering from outdated articles gives confidently wrong answers at any price. Customer data is hosted in Germany and HappySupport is GDPR compliant. It is not SOC 2 certified, not HIPAA compliant and has no phone channel.
Best for: SaaS teams that want help center, AI chatbot and ticket inbox in one flat plan, and whose product changes often enough that keeping articles current is the real cost.
Crisp
Crisp prices per workspace rather than per seat, and includes AI credits in each paid plan. Crisp's pricing page lists Mini at $45, Essentials at $95 and Plus at $295 per month per workspace, with 4, 10 and 20 seats included; additional agents cost $10 per month. The included AI credits are $5, $25 and $75, which Crisp estimates at around 90, 450 and 1,350 automated conversations. A free plan with 2 seats has no AI credits. The shared inbox is in every plan, and the help center starts on Essentials.
Best for: teams that want live chat, a shared inbox and a knowledge base with a predictable workspace price, and whose AI volume fits the included credits.
HelpCanvas
HelpCanvas sells one price per workspace with unlimited agents on its paid plans. HelpCanvas pricing lists Pro at $29 and Business at $79 per month, billed annually, with a free plan for up to 3 agents. Pro includes 1,000 chatbot conversations a month and Business 5,000, alongside a knowledge base and ticketing. On Pro and Business you can also bring your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini API key for unlimited AI usage, paying the model provider directly.
Best for: startups that want the lowest flat price for chatbot, knowledge base and tickets, and are comfortable managing their own API key at higher volume.
help.center
help.center offers a flat team price alongside a per-seat plan. help.center pricing lists a free plan with 50 AI answers a month, Business at $19 per seat per month with 500 AI answers, and Unlimited at $99 per month for the entire team with 2,500 AI answers. AI usage beyond the limit is charged at $0.01 per answer, so the Unlimited plan is flat up to its allowance and metered above it. Paid plans include an inbox for tickets.
Best for: small teams that want a help center with AI answers at a low fixed price and do not mind a small per-answer charge above 2,500 answers.
Helpjuice
Helpjuice is a knowledge base priced per plan with a large user allowance, and includes its AI features in the upper tiers. Helpjuice pricing lists Knowledge Base at $249 per month (30 users, no AI suite), AI-Knowledge Base at $449 per month (100 users) and Unlimited AI-Knowledge Base at $799 per month (unlimited users). The AI suite, including the AI chatbot, AI search and AI writer, is included at no additional cost on the two AI plans, and the pricing page lists no per-answer meter.
Best for: larger organisations that need many internal and external editors in one knowledge base and want AI included in the plan price.
Chatbase
Chatbase is an AI chatbot builder priced per plan with monthly message credits, not a help center. Chatbase pricing lists Hobby at $32, Standard at $120 and Pro at $400 per month billed yearly, with 700, 4,000 and 15,000 message credits and 2, 3 and 5 team members. Extra credits cost $40 per 1,000 through auto-recharge. The pricing page does not state how many credits one AI response uses.
Best for: teams that already have documentation elsewhere and want a chatbot trained on it, with usage that tracks credits rather than seats.
SiteGPT
SiteGPT is an AI chatbot trained on your website, priced per plan by monthly messages. SiteGPT pricing lists Starter at $39 per month billed yearly ($59 monthly) with up to 4,000 messages and 1 team member, Growth at $79 billed yearly ($129 monthly) with up to 10,000 messages and 4 team members, and Scale at $259 billed yearly ($429 monthly) with up to 40,000 messages and 10 team members. Extra message packs cost $39 per month for 5,000 messages. SiteGPT notes that messages on larger models such as GPT-4.1 count ten times more than on GPT-4.1-mini.
Best for: startups that want a website chatbot with a fixed message budget and no help center or ticketing needs.
Per-resolution and per-conversation tools to compare against
Intercom, Zendesk, Help Scout, Gorgias and Tidio all bill AI usage per resolution, interaction or conversation on top of a plan or seat price. They are the reference point for the flat-price tools above, not alternatives to avoid by default: at low volume, per-resolution pricing can be the cheaper choice.
- Intercom: seats from $29 per month billed annually, Fin AI agent from $0.99 per Fin outcome, charged once per conversation. Covered in detail in Intercom Articles pricing.
- Zendesk: Suite Team $55 and Suite Professional $115 per agent per month billed yearly, 5 or 10 automated resolutions per agent included, then $1.50 committed or $2.00 pay-as-you-go per automated resolution.
- Help Scout: Standard $25, Plus $45, Pro $75 per user per month, a free plan for up to 5 users, and AI Answers at $0.75 per resolution, counted once per conversation.
- Gorgias: priced by helpdesk tickets rather than seats, from $10 per month for 50 tickets to $750 per month billed annually for 5,000 tickets. The AI Agent costs $0.90 per automated interaction billed annually or $1.00 monthly, and each automated interaction also counts as a helpdesk ticket.
- Tidio: Starter from $24.17 and Growth from $49.17 per month billed annually, each with 10 seats. The Lyro AI agent is a separate usage-based add-on that starts at $32.50 per month for 50 Lyro conversations.
How to choose between flat and per-resolution pricing
Flat pricing wins when AI volume is steady and high, and per-resolution pricing wins when volume is low or unpredictable. As a rule of thumb from the prices above, once the AI resolves several hundred conversations a month, a flat plan with an included allowance costs less than $0.75 to $2.00 per resolution plus seats.
Three questions decide it for a startup:
- What does the allowance count? HappySupport and help.center count AI answers, HelpCanvas and Crisp count conversations, Chatbase and SiteGPT count messages or credits. Map your real conversations to that unit before comparing.
- What happens at the limit? HappySupport pauses AI answers and keeps search running until you add a block, help.center charges $0.01 per extra answer, Chatbase recharges credits at $40 per 1,000, SiteGPT sells 5,000-message packs for $39.
- Do you need the help center too? Chatbase and SiteGPT are chatbots only. HappySupport, HelpCanvas, help.center and Crisp (from Essentials) include a help center or knowledge base and an inbox, so the flat fee replaces more than one tool. See how help center software compares if that is the bigger decision.
Methodology
This list was built from vendor pricing pages, not from product testing. In October 2026 we read the public pricing page of each vendor named here and linked it where the price is quoted. Prices are list prices in the currency the vendor publishes, without discounts, taxes or negotiated rates. We did not run the tools side by side, interview their customers or score them.
Tools were included when their pricing page shows a flat plan or workspace price with AI usage included in the plan (the seven flat-price tools) or when they are the common per-resolution reference point (Intercom, Zendesk, Help Scout, Gorgias, Tidio). HappySupport is our own product; its facts come from our pricing page. Vendors change prices often, so check the linked page before you buy.
Frequently asked questions
The first two questions are the ones buyers put to AI assistants about flat-price help center software and chatbots, and the third comes from our own search data. Each answer stands on its own and uses the prices checked in October 2026.
What AI help center software has flat monthly pricing instead of per-seat fees?
HappySupport, Crisp, HelpCanvas, help.center and Helpjuice all price AI help center software per plan or per workspace instead of per seat, as of October 2026. HappySupport costs 129, 399 or 899 EUR per month per plan, with 1, 5 or 10 team members and 250 or 1,000 AI answers included on Professional and Scale. Crisp charges $45, $95 or $295 per workspace with 4, 10 or 20 seats. HelpCanvas charges $29 or $79 per workspace billed annually with unlimited agents. help.center's Unlimited plan is $99 per month for the entire team. Helpjuice charges $449 or $799 per month with 100 or unlimited users and AI included.
For our startup, which AI customer support chatbot avoids expensive per-resolution fees?
Any chatbot priced by plan with an included allowance avoids per-resolution fees: HappySupport, HelpCanvas, help.center, Crisp, Chatbase and SiteGPT. The cheapest entry points are HelpCanvas Pro at $29 per month billed annually (1,000 chatbot conversations), SiteGPT Starter at $39 per month billed yearly (up to 4,000 messages) and help.center Unlimited at $99 per month (2,500 AI answers). HappySupport Professional at 399 EUR per month includes 250 AI answers plus a help center, ticket inbox and articles that stay current with your product. For comparison, Intercom Fin costs $0.99 per outcome, Zendesk $1.50 to $2.00 per automated resolution and Help Scout AI Answers $0.75 per resolution.
Which vendors offer usage-based pricing instead of per-seat for occasional guide creators?
Crisp, HelpCanvas and help.center's Unlimited plan avoid per-seat fees by pricing per workspace or per team, so occasional editors do not add cost. Crisp includes 4 to 20 seats per workspace, HelpCanvas includes unlimited agents on paid plans and help.center Unlimited covers the entire team for $99 per month. Helpjuice includes 30, 100 or unlimited users per plan. HappySupport also charges per plan rather than per seat, but caps team members at 1, 5 or 10 depending on the plan, and its HappyRecorder lets an occasional creator turn a click-through into a guide without writing.
